The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has this morning endorsed Senator Barack Obama in the presidential race. Perhaps not a surprise, though I wonder whether it helps Obama or hurts him. The Brady Campaign says in its press release that "The difference between the two tickets is clearest with regard to assault weapons," pointing to Obama's statement in his nomination acceptance speech that "the reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than they are for those plagued by gang violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals."

No surprise here. Personally, I thought they had already endorsed him a long time ago. Brady campaign is fairly insignificant as lobby organizations go.
It is the definition of "assault weapon" that will be the big question. Different peoples' definition of the term "Assault Weapon" varies greatly. When the anti-gun Representatives, such as Carolyn McCarthy of New York draft a new ban, and she defines anything with a capacity of more than 5 rounds or ammo as an assault weapon, then we will all know why McCain would have been the better choice on guns.
Anyhow, I would venture to guess that AK-47 and AR-15 sales are at an all time high, in anticipation of this legislation. I have, myself, purchased a new AK-47 and M1A within the past two months, alone. Many people that I know are stockpiling the guns that will probably be banned in the next wave of legislation. Get 'em while you can.

Please help me understand your position on this issue. What is the basic purpose of obtaining/possessing such weapons, and why would anyone want to 'stockpile' them? And while I'm being nosey, do you believe there are any classes of firearms that should not be allowed in general circulation? I'm curious about where we should draw the line on this issue so the rights of both the hunters/sportspersons/collectors/selfprotectionists and the nonowners of firearms are protected.
BTW, is an M1A a WWII era rifle or a modern battle tank?
The Hollywood elite have been fortelling of good government gone bad. "Enemy of the State", "V for Vendetta", and "A Clockwork Orange" spring to mind. Was Kubrick so wrong predicting a world of gangs, sex and ultra-violence. If a sitting President refused to step down January 20th and the Cabinet and Supreme Court and NSA backed him; what "Well Regulated Militia" do we have to protect the Constitution and Bill of Rights from being infringed. Speaking of "Infringed", what does that mean? To me it is NO regulations, NO laws, NO prohibitions, NO licenses, NO IFS, ANDS, or BUTS against your Right to own or carry a firearm or weapon.
The "Dick Act, 1903" or little known as "The National Guard Act", was supposed to strengthen the State Militias by giving more Federal money to the states, but there came a trade off, in violation of the 2nd Amendment, to put the State National Guardsmen under Federal Army control therefor eliminating the "State Militias" which are to protect the States for the tyranny of the Federal Government, if the need should ever arise. Well enough about guns and law, thanks for letting me vent. NRA forever.
As Obama era looms, Gates drops 'Islamist' from characterization of terrorism
Defense Secretary Robert Gates last week referred to Islamist terrorism by the politically-correct term “violent extremism” during a speech to the U.S. Institute of Peace. The use of the non-Islamist terminology highlights the ongoing debate in government over the use of terms like jihad and Islamic extremism in public discussions of terrorism.
Gates said Oct. 15 that “in violent extremism, we face an adversary today that seeks to eject all Westerners and Western influence from the Middle East and Southwest Asia, to destroy Israel and overthrow all secular and Western-oriented governments in the region.”
In a second reference, he said “the long reach of violent extremism emanating from failed and failing states, from ungoverned spaces brought terror to America's shores and subsequently brought America and our allies to Afghanistan.” – World Tribune October 24, 2008

White Christians can't say this – and black preachers won't touch the issue.
But it's time black Christians faced the reality about Barack Obama's
dangerous moral values.

As a child in the 1960s I rode in the back of the bus. I was at the front of
the riot lines in the 1970s, when I hit white boys on the head with bricks
and dragged white girls down sidewalks near my school. I also experienced
serious racism when I was an athlete in college.
I have been called the "N" word many times. I was taught to hate white
people, and some of my relatives still call white people names such as
"honky" and "cracker." But after I found Jesus, I was delivered from racism.
I am free indeed!
"Regardless of political opinions, the Bible makes it clear: Those who
support the homosexual agenda and the murder of unborn babies will be

The residue of my abuse has dried up at the root, and I am no longer a
victim of what I call "ricochet racism." This occurs when the abused becomes
the abuser.
Ricochet racism is a hellacious boomerang that grips the victim with pride
and makes him think he has a right to hate. When I was saved, God taught me
that I did not have a right to hate white people. Jesus nailed all my
excuses to the cross, and I moved on.
Now that I am a born-again Christian, I do not consider my race to be my
primary identity. I am a Christian first-before I am an African-American, a
Democrat or a Republican. That's why I am troubled that so many
African-American Christians are voting for Barack Obama simply because he is
black.
If someone won't vote for a person because of race, we call this racism. But
it is also racism when someone votes for a person because of his race!
Believe me, I would love to see a black brother in the White House-but not
someone like Obama, who has embraced humanistic doctrines. Many white
preachers are afraid to say this, and many black preachers won't touch it
with a 10-foot pole.
I pray for Obama and his family. But as Elijah troubled Ahab in
Israel, I will challenge his views because they are dangerous to our
religious liberties. It's time to draw the line.
Black Christians today need to put their faith first when they step into the
voting booth. Does Obama represent godly values?
We know, for example, that he is an inclusionist. For 20 years he attended a
church in Chicago that preaches that (1) Jesus is not the only way to God;
(2) there is no hell; and (3) God will allow homosexuals to go to heaven
even if they remain in their sinful state. Obama also has defended the
killing of unborn babies, even in the third trimester.
He claims to be a Christian, but in his book The Audacity of Hope he calls
the first chapter of Romans an "obscure" passage of Scripture. God's
admonition about the sin of homosexuality is hardly obscure. It is very
clear!
Jesus is the only way to God, and God will surely send homosexuals to hell
if they do not turn from their ways and accept Christ-just as He will do for
all other sinners who do not trust Jesus.
Regardless of political opinions, the Bible makes it clear: Those who
support the homosexual agenda and the murder of unborn babies will be judged
(see Rom. 1:32). These were the main issues in the days of ancient Israel,
and they are critical issues today.
The pro-abortion movement is tied to the worship of two idols, Chemosh and
Molech, the gods of child sacrifice. The movement toward gay marriage is
rooted in the spirit of gameo, a Greek word that refers to same-sex marriage
(see Matt. 24:38).
How can we vote for politicians who favor these ungodly movements? The Bible
says we must separate ourselves from sin and wickedness. God is looking for
faithful Christians who will not bow to the gods of this world.
I know what I am saying is not popular, and some people will denounce me for
it. But I believe it is time to draw a line.
Believers can no longer make excuses by pulling their race cards, leaning on
their lukewarm denominational rules or hiding under the covering of a
political party. If we want America to recover, we must repent. We must
choose the right side.
We must stand strong for what we believe and hold our ground. We must
declare, as Joshua did, "Whoever is on God's side … stand with me!"

Being dismayed recently when a family member of mine said
to me with great resignation that Obama will take the presidency.
These words came from someone who in the past has been a great
prayer warrior.
What is happening was my question??? Why are we Christians
settling and not issuing a battle cry and falling to our knees and
taking our country back?
Why aren't we praying? Our God is a mighty God who is waiting patiently
for us to raise our voices to heaven to stop the tide of the anti-Christ
actions in our world today. Now we find we have a
charismatic candidate
for president who does not respect our flag and refuses to wear one on
his lapel except when it becomes politically expedient and whose own
wife and pastor that he loves profess to have strong anti-white
feelings, and we sit back and say "it is a given, we can do nothing."
There has never been a time in 2000 years that we can do
nothing. We must not sit back and allow the evil in men's and women's hearts to take over our world. We should be very afraid because our
apathy is leading us to perdition.
It is time for all Christian Americans to raise the battle cry and take
our nation back. Maybe McCain on his own cannot defeat
Obama, but our God can and He will if we take to our knees in prayer and raise a mighty
cry to the heavens to "Save us O Lord." We have
the power to change the course of this election and to keep a man as suspect as Barak Obama from
leading our country to who knows where with his message of
"change" – a change which I fear will be away from our Christian ideals
and away from Christ and further away from one nation under God.
We are great at passing stories and pictures around the
internet, but where are our prayers and prayer warriors praying to stop
this tide of Barak Obama? God parted the red sea, Jesus raised himself from the
dead, and we can bring our country back to its Christian
roots and stop
the move to the rise of Muslims in our country. We can
stop our country
from being "under Allah," but we must begin to
pray, to pray as if our
country and our lives depended on it, because they do. We
can stop all these atrocities against God's commands that have taken
root in our country through something as simple as sincere prayer, a
call to God to deliver us, to forgive us our sins of apathy and to protect us from the evil that is upon us.
Okay prayer warriors, here is your challenge, start those
prayer chains.
Get the spiritual power working on our behalf and stop
Barak Obama the
proper way, by calling on our God to save us from the deception that
charismatic preaching is using to lead us on the wrong path. Stop those who would take God out of our country and our government. Raise
up good men to lead us and protect us.
Invite God into the fray. Ask that His power rest upon us and give us the victory. Ask him to raise up a
mighty army to defend us and to protect our country as he
did in days of old. Let us be victorious beginning NOW. The battle is His but we must
call on Him without ceasing and unite our voices and hearts
in prayer and fasting.
Please pass this around to all people of prayer that you
know and maybe,
just maybe a more eloquent person of prayer will write
something better
and more inspiring and even the rocks will shout that Jesus
is Lord and our Mighty God is with us, bringing the victory for us and
ultimately for Him. "Be joyful always, pray continually, give
thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ
Jesus." I Thes 5:16-18
….Continuous Prayer is the answer to this attack on the USA…. Please
pray the Will of God will prevail through our continuous prayers to HIM…

Let's be clear. From the beginning with Adam and Eve God gave his people free will. We have a right to choose. God did not allow Obama to win the presidential election. The choice of the people did. As a nation we are in trouble. Just as Adam and Eve experienced the consequence of disobedience, so we as a nation will.
Wake up Church. He that hath an ear to hear let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the church.
To compare a man of such world religiosity to Martin Luther King is ludicrous. Martin Luther King was a righteous man. Do you really think he would endorse the stance of pro-choice and homosexual equality? We have the highest abortion rate of all populations in the black community. Would a black president really want black women to have the choice to kill their babies and decrease our population.
Obama states that he does not believe homosexual marriage is right, but same sex unions should receive benefits set aside for holy unions. That is a lukewarm state and he is lukewarm on just about every issue, but not one Spiritual leader has questioned him. Outside of Rev Sharpton and Rev Jackson. Where are our spiritual leaders? They are hiding behind false doctrine. Dare they stand up and preach holiness and right living according to the Word of God (the BIBLE). Dare they preach the wages of sin is death? Dare they preach Jesus? They have to hide, because they are not standing for truth. So to confront Obama would mean confronting themselves, and they dare not expose themselves. They would lose millions of dollars, and government funding.
My generation is missing their chance to sound the alarm, but I won’t be caught sleeping. I will speak the truth to my community. The persecution is not worth the silence CHURCH.
I am proud to be African American. I thank God for Jesus and salvation that freed me from the bondage of sin. Right now on 11/5/08, I am deeply saddened by the actions of church leaders and the black community during this election.
From day one, Obama was not the right choice for people of God. Why because he is pro-choice and he promotes a homosexual agenda.
How can we move forward in this nation, when we are allowing sin and liberal agendas to move us rather than trying the spirit by the Word of God. Our ancestors stood on the Word of God. Would they really be celebrating where are nations is going with killing babies and same sex relationships. Are ancestors believed in equality for all. Not VOTE BLACK just for change. We should vote JESUS CHRIST for change.
Why are we so quick to jump on what is popular, when some have not even taken the time to find out where Obama stands on the moral issues that are destroying the fabric of our country? People perish for the lack of knowledge. I can guarantee a high percentage of the Democratic vote, was driven by celebrity backing of the candidate, and watching debates. How many actually read Obama’s book (Jeremiah Wright’s influence), researched his senate career, and his voting history on the major issues.
Why has it taken a political man to start the process of hope and change. The hope and change has always been here in the GOD OF THE BIBLE and his son Jesus Christ who can bring about change in hope that is eternal and endless.
Change. Are we ready for the real change we are getting ready to see. Pray people of God pray. Sound the alarm!!!! Jesus is soon to come. Let’s tell the real truth.
