File your income tax forms online for FREE

Free Income Tax Forms, free tax filing and other tax information on government web sites.


Federal Taxes- United States Internal Revenue Service

At the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) web site you can download tax forms, check the status of your tax refund, get a copy of your submitted tax return, and set up a payment plan for taxes you may owe.

You can also file and submit tax forms right on the IRS web site.  If you make $56,000 or less a year, you may qualify for FREE FILE.  Click on FREE FILE on the IRS web page.  If you do not qualify for the "FREE FILE" option, you can still file free using certain tax software.  At the IRS web page click on "e-file."  There will be instructions on which tax software will allow an you to file online free.

State Taxes- Ohio Department of Taxation

Get copies of state tax forms, file income taxes online FREE (use the I-File option; no special tax software is needed), and check the status of your refund, are just a few of the services and information available at the state site.

City Taxes – City of Akron Income Tax Division

Free E-Filing online (no special tax software is needed), copies of City Income Tax Forms, JEDD (Joint Economic Development Districts) Income Tax forms, and an estimate payment worksheet are on the Akron Income Tax Division web site.  See the web page for more information.  For questions concerning Akron City Income Tax contact the Akron Income Tax Division.

Regional Income Tax Agency (R.I.T.A.)

R.I.T.A. is a non-profit agency that collects income tax for 157 municipalities in the State of Ohio.  Does this include your town?
