Braylon goes Hollywood

Posted July 7th, 2008 by Dan

No, this isn't a story about an egomaniac wide receiver (yes, I know that given the current tenor of today's NFL, that is shocking). No, it's just a story from ESPN the Magazine on wide receiver Braylon Edwards learning about the Hollywood life.

For most receivers, the story would probably be on hanging out with celebrities, boozing it up and scoring some women. Not our man Edwards, though. Oh, no. He's merely meeting producers, screenwriters and learning the background before he comes to the forefront of the movie business. (You see that play on words? Background, forefront? Oh man…)

Notes…
Carlos Holmes of the Dayton Daily News has this story on Lawrence Vickers, one of the unsung players of the offense. Wacky fact: Holmes and blogger Luke Chandler share the same nickname: Big C. Crazy!

Chris Pokorny of Dawgs by Naturebegins his preview of Browns training camp. Good stuff from Pokorny. I'm not a big fan of training camp previews, but this is well done.

It's not Browns related, but Akron Zips blogger Mike "Don't spell it R-a-z-o-r" Rasor clearly is getting antsy for August camp to begin. As Zips fan, I am as well. I like the guy personally, but head coach JD Brookhart has to be feeling some heat heading into this season.

Oh yeah, Kelly Holcomb retired.
