Larry, are you telling me that Derek Anderson is Steve DeBerg and that Brady Quinn is Joe Montana? I'm cool with that.

And if Anderson is DeBerg, then he will also hand over his next starting job to another HOF talent. John Elway replaced DeBerg in Denver.

Steve DeBerg was benched in favor of Montana in 1980, in Montana's second season.

Every coach is 'wishy-washy' in regard to qbs until one proves he's the best on the roster. Even Bill Walsh started Steve DeBerg over Joe Montana for a while if I remember correctly.

Can everyone please stop over-analyzing the QB situation, and just admit the "unspoken, obvious truth" that this job has been Brady Quinn's since the moment he was drafted. Near as I can tell, we don't have Marino, Montana or Elway ahead of him, so what are the media and (limited) fans complaining about?

We drafted a #1 pick to play the position, and after observing for 18 games, the team deemed it time to play him. They hadn't won squat under the previous QB (despite the "great" Trent Dilfer's endorsement). In fact, Dilfer's endorsement alone is enough to make a QB switch!!

Romeo is simply stating that Brady's time has come, and no mediocre QB performances in a play-out-the-string season are going to change the pecking order for 2009. I see no problem at all.
