Be heard on the Kokinis hiring
Posted January 26th, 2009 by Dan
Finally, after a week of stalling, the Browns have hired a new general manager. But, was it the right choice? You tell us. Vote and if you pick no, tell us who you would have wanted.

Want to have a groan? Read about how Eric Mangini had a mural of Browns legends painted over. From the perspective of fans, this seems petty and frustrating. More on this after Kokinismania stops running wild.

Where is Bill Parcells when you need him?

It'll be the right decision if the players catch, block and tackle. Coaches and GMs look very smart when the players do what they're supposed to do. They all have talent. Now they need to do their jobs.

How does anyone appropriately direct the hiring of his boss?
Hmmmm…

The Browns have regressed once again. A pro team should never replace the GM and coach simultaneously. Continuity and stability coupled with a proven 'system' will produce results. Crennel is a proven coach. He's been successful. Savage was new to his job and was not well-suited to the GM position. I can't recall when the draft has produced a legitimate pro-bowl defensive player for the Browns. You can't win with 'average' linebackers and marginal defensive backs. As for the offensive unit… it was dessimated with injuries in 2008. Losing Crennel was a huge mistake. Give him better and healthier players and a winner would have emerged. As my grandmother used to say: 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!'.

Please get the Browns fans out of this mess and into a winning team. This is just awful!!!!!!!!!!

why have a poll? truth has never been a matter of opinion.
the only problem is that it could be a great hiring, but if they allow themselves to be swayed by the insane asylum known as browns' fans, they'll fail.

You posted all the negative thoughts about the Browns hirings. Maybe there's a little bit of contempt toward the management seeing that friends of yours got laid off. The Browns as a football team have a lot of potential and I saw that potential when I saw them beat the New York Giants on Monday night. Keep posting negative thoughts and maybe if you're lucky all of these so-called fans will be rooting for Pittsburgh as you'd like that.

Daniel, I posted the opinion pieces I could find. No malice intended, trust me. Everyone else just had straight news on the hiring, and that's boring.
I have no contempt toward Browns management, especially concerning the layoffs. I knew none of those people, and while it sucks, it doesn't have a thing to do with my opinion. In fact, not only did I leave my opinion out of this (and I didn't even vote in the poll), I've actually defended Randy Lerner more than most.
And I'm not really sure where the Pittsburgh thing comes from. I loathe the Steelers. You might be thinking of Pat.
But I agree: Go Browns, go Browns, go Browns, go Browns!

I am skeptical of anything the Browns have done in the past 15yrs. including bringing someone back that is of that culture. We have good players. With proper game management and a good showing from the skilled players and a great showing from the line play on both sides of the ball. WE CAN WIN! Very fast, Very large men on the line is a must.

I think the Browns did the right thing. They hired a coach and a general manager together whom have enough experience and yet still have youthful vigor to lead a team of young men in an athletic game, the likes the world has never seen before.
I think they will use their own instincts and tallent and vogor to devise a team and a play book to be competitive and improved over anyother team in the league.
This could be a new era for the Browns.

What are you gonna do when Kokinismania and my 24 inch pythons come after you, brotha! Give me a can of spray, I'll take out that wall, brotha, nWo style. Yeah! The black and white, Hollywood attack, brotha. Ain't no Browns legends gonna stand up when they get the big boot, and I land that leg drop in font of 84,000 screaming Kokinismaniacs at the Pontiac Silver Dome.

I was sold on this hire since Ernie Accorsi gave his stamp of approval. As for this Sunday, go Cardinals and beat the Pittsburgh Steelbillys. Their fans are very annoying and have bad teeth.

They should fire them all…even the city of cleveland should be fired as well and all there fans too, their all no good !!!!!!! You would be better off to pay a high school team to stand in for them.

I believe Randy Lerner is a business man and wants to put the best product on the field that he can. After all, we have so many bandwagon squeelers fans in Ohio and they aren't afraid to purchase all the black and gold stuff they can find as long as the squeelers are winning. Too many of us Browns are disappointed that we did not hire Cowher, he didn't want to come out of retirement time to move on simple as that. As far as Mangini, I thought he did an admirable job in New Yuk, he took a gamble of Favre, and if that arm hadn't given out who knows, he might still be their coach. As far as Kokinis goes, all I can say is there is an awful lot of talent on that ratbirds team, he cannot be to bad at what he does. During the draft everyone questioned Flacco, and he sure made the doubters look silly. If Mangenius and Kokinis can put together the kind of defense the ratbirds and prop planes had this year, I believe we could be a contender.
those of you squeeler fans living in Ohio, why don't you do us all a great big favor, move to pigsburg and stay off of our message boards. We don't want to hear your non-sense. Go CARDINALS!!!!!!

Old Man Grump….I love how these Squeelers trolls are sooooo confident they have to check out places that host the Brown and Orange and not those urine-soaked towels.
Take it and that traitor San Antonio Holmes and put it where the sun don't shine, Yinzer! Wanna cheer for a PA team? Then move to friggin Western PA and help the economy there, and raise the average OH IQ at the same time!
