I saw where Mike Singletary was talking about Michael Vick.If you are not talking to the player or his agent directly. Then what's the big deal?If the team wants to resign a player they'll make an offer he'll sign.As long as another team isn't talking money it shouldn't matter.I think the NFL should get rid of the franchise tag.If you don't resign the player your team will be compensated with a draft pick.Starting at the end of the third round. It would allow more college players to be drafted.I think it would give teams more flexibility and cut down on the salary cap problems.A team is less likely to over pay a player in fear of getting no compensation in return. And the player is allowed to find a team to his liking and won't be limited. Some players might be rated higher than the pick their team is allocated but their not left empty handed. It would get rid of the drama we see every offseason and simplify the system. It's just a thought after seeing all franchise tags used this offseason. Here's a couple of examples.Julius Peppers would be a free agent to choose his team but Carolina would get a 3rd round pick based on the value chart.Albert Haynesworth would be a free agent but the titans would receive a 3rd round pick based on the value chart. The player gets the freedom to chose his team in Peppers case. And with Haynesworth the team would receive the highest compensation available. The NFL would set up the value chart.Sounds easy right.Lol.GO BROWNS!!!
