Dinkins will make it if Rucker or Heiden's injury will make them miss extended time in the regular season, but right now that's not a lock. Dinkins really isn't that great though. He has two main responsibilities: goal-line/short yardage plays and special teams. Heiden, if healthy, can do the same things (he made the Pro Bowl as a special teams player in San Diego). Dinkins is a nice piece, and the Browns have to be careful with him to prevent him from going back to Baltimore, but he's replaceable.

The first four series of the game should be real good. After that, it might be a snoozer considering the Browns are playing three games in 13 days. I imagine we'll see more Ken Dorsey tonight.

I'm also interested in those new defensive backs that were brought in.

Just a quick note about Hixon. He's more of a favorite of blogging cohort Mike Rasor. Why? Because I mostly covered Charlie Frye (who played like three quarters the other day) and Rasor did Hixon. Also, Mike likes to wish Hixon happy birthday. It's super weird.

It would be very nice for your newscenter to offer congratulations to the Garfield High School Cheerleading team, who are the only Akron School cheerleading squad selected to be a part of a 400 member dance and cheer team to provide the pre-game show and the half-time show with their routines at tonights Cleveland Browns Pres-season game at the Cleveland Stadium. There are many other girls who make up part of the team from Berea, Solon, Wickliffe, and other surrounding Cleveland areas, but only one school from Akron is honored to be part of this wonderful opportunity.

I was there at the Browns training camp with the girls as they practiced as my daughter is one of the Garfield Cheerleaders. We were there 2 days prior to the Browns returning to begin their practice season.

Their coach is Bambi Hugh.
