For those with an interest in psychology, there is now a Psychological Channel. One of the interesting features is the videos. For example, right now the site is featuring a video on BF Skinner, pigeons, and free will.
If you have an interest in psychology, you may want to check it out.
For those interested in jobs in Industrial – Organizational Psychology, you may want to check out the IO careers site. This site seems to appeal to a youthful audience and also includes discussion of graduate student issues.
Happy Birthday Elvis. Below a video of Elvis, not BF Skinner.

It’s somewhat rare for students to enjoy their jobs in college. I know my first internship in college showed me that I didn’t want to work in that industry.
Sometimes just working at the school cafeteria can be the perfect fit for a student. It beats filing papers all day in a cubicle, and you usually get some free food!
Hey Dennis, the skinner video on reinforcement and free will was great.
1) It relates to my recent blogging on determinism (all of which is truly old stuff, but then nothing is really new is it?). It makes me realize that when I really began thinking about this free will issue was many years ago when I read Skinner’s “Walden Two.” Written post WWII, as so many utopian novels seem to follow the “great” wars, I still recommend it as a good fictional read with a message. By the way you can download it here:

2) It reminds me of my undergrad class in Learning. Only I worked with a white rat (I named it Dorothy after Sesame Street Elmo’s pet fish and I had it trained to do my house-cleaning by the end of the semester) instead of a pidgeon. Too bad so many undergrad psych programs do not have this class, it was invaluable.
