Kent State men's golf wins Towson Invitational

Following a sixth place finish in the 2008 NCAA Championship, the Kent State men's golf team is off to a strong start in 2009, easily winning the 11th Annual Towson Invitational Golf Tournament over the weekend.

Kent State sophomore John Hahn won the tournament–his first career win. Hahn's five-under par 211 (68-73-70) led the way for four Kent State golfers to finish among the top five positions. Mackenzie Hughes and Nick Latimer tied for second place shooting a three-under par 213, while David Ludlow finished fifth with a 217.

The tournament, held at Maryland's Prospect Bay Country Club, was Kent State's third of 2009. They finished sixth out of 15 teams at the National Invitational Tournament March 22-23, and 11th out of 15 teams at The Puerto Rico Classic Feb. 27-March 1.

The Golden Flashes are scheduled to play the Administaff ASU Invitational at  Champion's Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, GA. this weekend.
