Edelman already buzzing in camp
By Jonas FortuneFormer Kent State quarterback Julian Edelman has already caught the eye of one media member at the Boston Globe. Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss already dedicated a quick video to the seventh round draft pick.
Reiss' blog is chock full of information on the Patriots, with several Edelman notes. Not much on former wrestler Jermail Porter yet though. Check it out.
Reiss on Edelman:
Edelman looked very quick to me. You saw him plant his foot in the ground and change direction smoothly.
Edelman lined up at multiple spots, but he mostly caught my eye in the slot.

Really ticks me off that Edelman was available in the 7th round, and wasn't snatched by the Browns. There's no substitute for versatile, quick football players, something Cleveland has few of. He could've been an asset on offense or defense.
THIS is where those talent evaluators are so critical–finding the "sleeper" picks. Obviously Mangini didn't learn *every* lesson from Belichick. Watch Edelman become a major part of the Pats.

Edelman is a heck of a player. He's given the MAC, and especially the Zips, fits for years - almost as much so as Josh Cribbs. We Zips fans are so glad to see him graduate! Lol. The Browns were stupid for not taking this guy. Oh, well. That's why they're the Browns and the Patriots are the Patriots. It's probably much better for Edelman to be in New England anyhow.
