The Major League Baseball 2009 First Year Player Draft will take place on Tuesday.  Kent State baseball coach Scott Stricklin says that as many as nine KSU players could be drafted but realistically six or seven should be taken for sure.  Jonas Fortune has the story here.  The MAC Daily has previewed the draft while talking about a few Golden Flashes and Dennis Manoloff from The Plain Dealer previews the draft and also looks at some Ohioans who should hear their name called.

Lou Holtz's speech in the Centennial Starner Distinguished Speaker Series that will take place on September 9, 2009 has sold out in just a week.  The Kent State Athletic Department announced that it will simulcast the speech in the KIVA, which will roughly open up another 400 free tickets.  Holtz will speak in the Kent Student Center Ballroom at 7p.m.  A 1959 KSU graduate,  Holtz will share his life experiences as part of his speech entitled "If You Didn't Show Up, Who Would Miss You And Why?".

David Carducci checks in today with KSU news and notes including where some of the college football magazines are picking the 2009 Golden Flashes.
