Former Kent State right handed pitcher Kyle Smith (Louisville) has signed to a deal with the Indians.  The Indians selected Smith in the 20th round of the June draft.  Smith went 4-2 with a 4.79 ERA in 11 starts in 2009.  He was bothered by shoulder problems for much of the season.  Smith was the winning pitcher in the MAC Championship game as Kent State defeated Toledo 5-3 to win its seventh tournament championship in program history.
