Edelman signs with Patriots

By Mike Hrusch

Former Kent State quarterback Julian Edelman has signed a contract with the New England Patriots according to a report on boston.com.  Edelman, who was a seventh round pick in April, signed a four year deal worth $1.7 million with a $48,700 signing bonus.  Edelman really impressed people during the rookie mini-camp and the team's mandatory mini-camp.  He will be a versatile player for the Patriots as he makes the transition to wide receiver.  Edelman can also be used in the return game and line up at quarterback in the "wildcat offense".

    The steal of the draft.

Browns sure could've used another versatile, talented "football player" like Edelman. Belichick scores again

Good luck Julian! I have no doubt that Edelman will make the Patriots roster, and could be a contributor in his rookie season! His skills make him a perfect special teams standout. Don't be surprised to see him returning punts, as well as fielding kickoff returns. Great opportunity for a young talent, who also is a very quality young human being. GO KSU!!!!

The guy is a great talent and will be excellent for the Wildcat offense.
