Edelman out with broken arm

by Mike Hrusch on October 20, 2009

in Alumni, Football

Former Kent State quarterback and current New England wide receiver Julian Edelman has broken his arm and his timetable to return is unclear at this point.

Edelman would have been battling for the third receiver spot after the team has recently released veteran receiver Joey Galloway.  Edelman has adjusted to his new position very well with 21 catches and 188 yards while also returning punts.

That's a tough break for a tough kid.  I hope he comes back even stronger and continues to have a productive season and career.  Edelman and the rest of his teammates had a blowout victory on Sunday over winless Tennessee 59-0.  Edelman had 6 catches for 83 yards.

Six catches, and 21 for the season. I said it at the time, and I say "I toldya so" now….the Browns missed the boat on this one. Achingly so.

The Browns try to "outsmart" everyone with their ridiculous draft picks (a long snapper, a center–when we already had one, a lineman over a Hall of Fame running back), etc. But they're too stupid to see that Edelman is from the same mold as their #1 player, Josh Cribbs, who just happened to play the same position at the same college. What?…didn't the Browns think lightning could strike twice?

This shows the gap in intelligence between Belichick–who recognizes actual TALENT–and the so-called tree stump, Mangini, who wouldn't know talent if it stole the bag pork rinds from his fat lap.

Chaz! True! And the pork rind metaphor made my Friday!

Go Kent! Beat the Bobcats!
