The Kent State men's basketball team was picked to finish second in the MAC East on Wednesday morning in the media pre-season poll. The Golden Flashes got three first place votes in the division, and got one vote to win the MAC Tournament. Senior Chris Singletary was named to the East pre-season first team. The Chicago native recently re-injured his ankle and will be out about 2-4 weeks.
Not surprisingly, the Akron Zips were tabbed as the run away winner to win the East with 19 first place votes, and the tournament with 19 votes.
Central Michigan was picked to win the West with as many as five teams receiving three first place votes or more.
