I remember that 1998 MAC Tournament game. Akron had routed Kent twice that year by 20+ points, even ending a long losing streak dating back to the 1960s at the MAC Center. Akron wins the East and gets to host their first-ever MAC tournament game and "lowly" Kent comes in and beats 'em 95-88. Of course the very next year was the first season of 20 wins or more for KSU.

Now, for football, GO KENT! Keep playing like you've been playing (maybe a few less turnovers!) and you should win the game on Saturday. Hope lots of Kent fans make the trek over.

You just gotta love Kent bashers. They show their ignorance, better yet stupidity on a daily basis! I remember back in the mid-90`s when KSU opened the MAC basketball playoffs at the JAR. Kent players were greeted with signs from ZIP fans proclaiming "we`d rather play your girls team". Needless to say Kent won that game and Akron basketball wasn`t the same for 10 or so years. So c`mon Zitty fans, keep the insults coming, it`s great entertainment and you continue to display your lack of class.

Speaking of which, twice now Brookhart's teams have taken cheap shots on Eugene Jarvis in obvious attempts to put him out of the game. It grew so ridiculous that it prompted the Record Courier to write an article about it, and noted Brookhart's passively stupid "I didn't see anything" comments (most coaches would at least commit to reviewing such an accusation). With Kent the clear cut favorites this week and Brookhart on his way out (and desperate for a home win), I say we should keep an eye on the on-the-field play, particularly after tackles.

Kent may suck, but at least our starting quarterback isn't a drug-addicted thief and our coaches don't cheat, ultimately leading to a resignation.

Ahhhh! Another Kent basher. Gotta love it! To Kent State………..go out and prove to everyone that you are a football TEAM. Long suffering Kent fans know all too well the disappointment that Akron is going through right now. It`s about time to show the fans a winner. To Mike, I don`t know how much access you have to the team, but the above comment sure sounds like billboard material to me, even if it is from an idiot Akron fan! Enough is enough. Go Kent State University!!!
