Comment on Singletary to miss 2-6 weeks by Mike Hrusch

Bill,

I appreciate the kind words, and I really appreciate you reading. I am proud to be a Kent State alumnus, and am the biggest fan of their athletic programs. When I attended Kent I had the chance to get involved with the programs (men's basketball, sports information, etc.) and absolutely loved my experiences. I do this blog for FREE, because I love bringing information and energy to the Kent State fans. As you can tell, I don't care who is writing or covering the Golden Flashes, I want the fans to know about it.

As for the Flashes' hoop squad, last night was an encouraging win. Chris will absolutely be missed. I hope he has the chance to recover soon. I've gotten to know Chris over the last four seasons and he is a good kid. I know he will continue to get called a "thug" by Akron fans, but he is not that at all. I get the feeling each game without him will just be a possessiob by possession battle with defense being Kent's identity. Tyree Evans will need to step up and be more of a scorer, not just a "shooter." I loved his shot selection last night, so did coach Ford, who said he played with "aggressive patience." Anthony Simpson will have to play like he did last night. I am not thrilled about him shooting from the perimeter, although he did the three last night. Justin Greene continues to get better and better. Rod Sherman is a flat out baller, and a competitor. "The Rock" may not be a true point guard, but there is nothing false about his stat stuffing performances. I'm looking forward to watching the Flashes play all season long. Once again, thanks for the kind words and keep reading.

I love these comments from name-less, gut-less people who have nothing better to do with their meager time than to criticize. What's it like to go through life with a name like hey yooo! That must be your real name, right? HEY YOOO! By the way, are you related to HEY ROOO! First cousins' I'll bet. Your a real genius. Look it up in the dictionary Einstein!

Hey yooo - classic Akron fan. Make sure your house is in order before you criticize someone else.

What happened to the quarterback of your football team? What happened to one of your football coaches? What happened to the basketball transfer (Rydell Brooks) you brought in that got caught with a gun shooting at the police during a robbery? What happened to your basketball coach at Central Michigan? Jami Bosley - need i say more? I could go on and on.

Talk about thugs, you've had more than your fair share. I guaranty you've had more thugs come through your school than we have.

I'd keep a close eye on singletary while he's out. If he doesn't have opposing players to sucker punch, how on earth will he release all the aggression he has? Are innocent citizens next?

Atleast the thugs from Kent are one thug less for a while...

Hey Mike! Just a note to let you know, I think you do a great job with the KSU news! Keep it up! Now on Singletary: There is no doubt we will miss his presence, and his defense, but I do believe we have the weapons to make up for him. Justin Greene really had a nice game in Youngstown last night, and when Tyree Evans gets hot, look out. He was draining NBA 3's last night. Also, Rodriguez Sherman appears to be a very good floor general with the ball. To be honest, sometimes I wonder what Anthony Simpson is thinking out on the floor. He has the body type of Hamin Quaintance, but doesn't have that underneath presence that Q brought to the table. It just seems like you never know what player he will be on a given night. Also, with Singletary, he can pick up some really cheap fouls, that appear to hurt our team. With him out of the lineup, you may actually see an even greater emphasis on defense, with fewer costly fouls being called. Keep up the good work, and GO FLASHES!!

Yes! Marshall was not competitive in other sports. They volunteered to leave the MAC. And lo and behold, Marshall has found the same lack of success in their new conference. When Marshall left the MAC they destroyed natural rivalries with Ohio and Miami. Marshall left because they wanted to play in a higher profile football conference. That decision so far has not been too successful. Schools like KSU, Miami, Ohio, and Akron are perfect fits for the Mid-American Conference.
