Two seasons ago the Kent State men’s basketball team traveled to the Wolstein Center and were beaten by an underdog Cleveland State team, snapping a seven-game winning streak against the Vikings.
The game was just one of thirteen out-of-conference games (they were 7-6 after those games) that left much speculation as to whether Kent State’s [...]

Evans spectacular in debut

December 19, 2008

Tyree Evans made his much ballyhooed debut last night and didn't dissapoint. He led all scorers with 21 points and found Brandon Parks for an athletic assist or two as well.
In my opinion, Evans is already the most skilled player on the Flashes team this year. I know I have only seen him once [...]

Kent State Associate head coach Rob Senderoff may have put his tumultuous year at Indiana behind him, but the NCAA Committee on Infractions has not.

Basketball quick thoughts from Sunday

November 25, 2008

I know this is a little late, but hey, its Thanksgiving week and I have been busting my butt at work and at school trying to finish my last semester of school… until I enroll in grad school or law school next year.
First off….
SEAHAWKS…NOT SEAGULLS
Whoops, talk about an embarrassing mistake. If anyone missed it, [...]

Fisher on fire in overtime win

November 20, 2008

Kent State senior guard Al Fisher had a game for the ages last night in the Flashes 76-74 overtime win over St. Louis at Chaifetz Arena.
Thirty minutes. Thirty five points. One big overtime win on the road, early in the season.
The points sound gaudy enough, but it sounds even better when you look [...]

November 11, 2008

Monday night’s exhibition game against Division III Muskingum wasn’t much of a first glimpse of the Kent State men’s basketball team; unless you consider hoodies and t-shirts a first glimpse. Tyree Evans, Frank Henry-Ala, Chris Singletary, Anthony Simpson and Rodriquez Sherman were all out for the game. Here is the press release on the first [...]
