Porter going the way of Gates?

April 24, 2009

Kent State Heavyweight wrestler Jermail Porter, who was the first KSU wrestler since 1986 to earn All-American Status, never played a down for the Kent State football team. Heck, he never played a down at Firestone High School either, form what I understand.
He may be getting fitted for a helmet now though.
Porter has [...]

Thoughts from Snowy Dix Stadium

November 18, 2008

In the final home game of the season the Kent State football team had to battle Northern Illinois and Mother Nature. The Flashes were no match falling 42-14 on snow-covered

Some players lost their footing, while some just lost grip of the ball. This weather is conducive to snow angels, not touchdown passes…28-point beat downs [...]

Anyone who is familiar with Youngstown Cardinal Mooney's dominant football team last year will know the name of Taylor Hill. Anyone who doesn't know of him, will soon enough.
Recent reports have Hill, who originally committed to Oklahoma then went to Michigan instead, joining the Kent State Golden Flashes next season. The 6'2" 205 pound linebacker [...]

If anyone believes the football program should be dropped in order to supplement the basketball team, he or she should take a closer look at some financial numbers before making any type of rash opinion.

Football team ticked off

October 28, 2008

One Kent State football player – Yes, I know his name, but I am not putting it out — was fired up enough about his team Monday morning that he decided to pay the Kent State student newspaper, The Daily Kent Stater, a visit.
The player brought with him two stacks of the Stater's Monday [...]

Ohio 26, Kent State 19

October 11, 2008

it is almost comical at this point.
Today Kent State missed two extra point field goal attempts. Nate Reed missed one. Will Kandray missed the other. Ohio also blocked a field goal right before halftime.
The putrid kicking forced the Flashes into going for it on fourth down on a few occasions. I'll have the [...]
