In a battle of the top two MAC East teams, it was Kent State who bettered cross-town rival Akron 3-2 today. The Golden Flashes softball team improved to 7-1 in conference play, while the Zips fell to 6-4, and 23-14 overall. Kent State's softball team hit six homeruns in yesterday's double-header sweep of Ohio University. The Golden Flashes improved to 15-16, and a MAC East-leading 6-1 in conference play.
