State legislatures can’t do too much to reform the laws until the U.S. congress changes its prohibition against regulating, licensing and taxing the criminal anarchy out of the drug markets.

H.B. 5843, “To eliminate most Federal penalties for possession of marijuana for personal use..” currently in the U.S. House of Representatives would start the process of allowing the states to decriminalize marijuana.

I have written more about H.B. 5843 here: End Marijuana Prohibition in 2008
http://aleftindependent.blogspot.com/2008/05/end-marijuana-prohibition-in-2008.html

Decriminalization of pot would free up millions of police work-hours for real and violent crime.

This is really unfortunate for the 6,000 people who used to work for cash advance lenders in Ohio. What is even worse is the many people who used these loans to get by.

Stupid stuff like this is sure to run into the law of unintended consequences. People won't get hired if they will put the company over 25 employees. Companies will logically discriminate against smokers, fatties and others likely to pull that sick crap. Also, lazy people will abuse the system taking all 7 days each year hurting productivity.

Hello,
My question is this: what is the philosophy from Hilliary Clinton's pastor, and why isn't he/she an issue? Barack's alrerady reiterated his disdain for Rev. Wright and said he has misrepresented the entire Black Church. Why don't you give this guy a chance to speak his views on this instead of "jumping on the Hilliary or Billiary bandwagon spontaneously without thinking and how do you expect with our media controlled psycology, please give us voters the chance to make up our own minds instead of parading your views to the media?? Thanks for reading my comments tonight.

Suddes says....

"Will Republican Sen. John McCain become president? That's unanswerable. As for reading between the lines, if Ohio's economy stays bad, he won't carry Ohio -- unless (as of today) Democrats run Sen. Barack Obama. So yes, though it would be no day at the beach, Sen. Hillary Clinton could snatch Ohio from McCain. Obama likely would not.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed that among 1,238 Ohio voters surveyed, "Clinton beats McCain 48 to 39 percent; Obama gets 43 percent to McCain's 42 percent." The poll, taken March 24 to March 31, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percent."

Obama "likely would not" carry Ohio despite his 43-42% early lead numbers....in Ohio.

Suddes should have just scrapped what he was writing right then and started over. Once you prove what you're about to say is not based on fact, what's the point really?

Wishful thinking, I guess.
